After 16 years, the fashion designer Marc Jacobs is leaving Louis Vuitton. He marked a before and after in the timeline of this iconic luxury brand: introducing the ready to wear collection and creating designs that were beyond the classic monogram the brand offered before him. His manny creations with artists such as Stephen Sprouse, Takashi Murakami or Yayoi Kusama, recreate the classics, transforming them in the coolests bags ever!.
According to Bernard Arnault chief executive of LVHM, Marc is leaving Vuitton, to concentrate on his own brand. Even though the name of the replacement is not yet known, many believe Nicolas Ghesquière (ex Balenciaga) may be the one; but we are going to have to wait till the end of October to find out...
In an article I was reading at the NY times, the fashion and style director of W magazine, believed that Louis Vuitton's last week fashion show in Paris was like a funeral: the runway had many elements of his previous sets such us a carousel, a grand hotel elevator and twin escalators. And the collection was mainly black. So this was a completely goodbye.
Enjoy the pictures of his most memorable moments for LV!
